Illinois:
Quality Quest is tracking the percentage of employees vaccinated for the seasonal flu at area hospitals from October 2010 through February 2011. This report reflects the percentage of hospital employees who have been vaccinated for the seasonal flu as of December 31, 2010. Flu vaccinations in this region are currently voluntary. The goal is for all employees to be immunized before the end of the 2010/2011 flu season, unless they have a medical or religious reason not to participate. Updated reports will continue into March.

According to bioethicist Arthur Caplan, Ph.D., director of the Center
for Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania, "If you can get close
to 100 percent vaccination rates among health care workers, you can cut
patient death rates from flu by 40 percent."
