Sentara offering drive-through flu shots on SaturdayBy Cindy Clayton
The Virginian-Pilot © October 29, 2010 Sentara is offering $10 flu shots on Saturday at facilities in Virginia Beach, Suffolk and Newport News. The drive-through shots - which include the H1N1 vaccination - will be offered from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while supplies last, a Sentara news release says. The vaccinations are available for adults only. Shots are being offered at the following locations: - In Virginia Beach: Sentara Princess Anne, 1950 Glenn Mitchell Drive - In Suffolk: Sentara BelleHarbour, 3920 A. Bridge Road - In Newport News: Sentara Port Warwick, 1031 Loftis Blvd. Anyone who is under age 18, is allergic to eggs or egg products, has a fever over 100.5 degrees on Saturday, has had a severe reaction to thimerosol or formaldehyde or has ever been paralyzed by Gullain-Barre Syndrome will not be given a vaccination, the release says. Sentara also has donated 500 flu shots to Hampton Roads Community Health Center, formerly known as Portsmouth Community Health Center and Park Place Medical Center, the release says. Adult patients of the center can get the vaccination free of charge. Call the center for more information. |
