H1N1 closes down school
An area school district has canceled school for the rest of the week due to an outbreak of H1N1, or swine flu. Reporter: WEAU 13 NewsEmail Address: news@weau.com An area school district has canceled school for the rest of the week due to an outbreak of H1N1, or swine flu. The Medford School District canceled classes and activities through Sunday night. The Medford Catholic Schools are also closed. According to the Medford Public School District’s Web site, too many students are absent with the virus to continue classes. The Medford Catholic Schools tell WEAU 13 News that their plan for H1N1 closures has always been to close when the public schools do. However, both school systems share the same bus line, so there was a major concern of the disease spreading from school to school. |
