H1N1 flu shot clinics scheduled at schools

H1N1 flu clinics have been scheduled at Springfield schools in December:

- Tuesday -- Hillcrest High School.

- Thursday -- Pittman and Bingham elementary schools.

- Friday -- Field and Sequiota elementary schools.

- Dec. 8 -- Pershing K-8 and Wilder Elementary School.

- Dec. 9 -- Hickory Hills K-8.

- Dec. 10 -- Glendale High.

- Dec. 14 -- Shady Dell Early Childhood Center and Delaware Elementary School.

- Dec. 15 -- Holland and Twain elementary schools.

- Dec. 16 --Sunshine, Portland and Sherwood elementary schools.

- Dec. 17 -- Jarrett Middle School and Rountree Elementary.

- Dec. 18 -- Parkview High.

23 new Greene County flu cases confirmed

Last week, 23 new cases of laboratory confirmed flu were reported to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, according to a news release from spokesperson Katie Towns-Jeter.
Five cases were laboratory confirmed H1N1, fifteen were identified as Influenza A, and 3 as Influenza B.

As of Sunday -- the last reporting period -- 79,343 doses of H1N1 vaccine have been reported administered in Greene County, which represents about 78 percent of the 100,911 doses sent to the county. There were 410 doses administered last week.
