Looks like no new deaths in the top three states. I suppose this is very good news.

ymca, be on the look out for a link confirming 55 deaths in TN.  43 adults + 12 children.  They reported 55 on my local abc news this evening... www.wkrn.com.  But they do not have it on their website.  I've googled but found nothing to confirm.

Looks like the expected third wave in January didn't materialize. I suppose this is good news.

Jen, I couldn't find any updates for TN either.

The trend is similar to last week. But CO and OH experienced big spike. Possibly due to they stopped reporting for weeks.

I read some pediatric death news in TN but no total was mentioned, so I wasn't able to update the TN count.

I finally found one [link for TN count] ymca, it's dated Jan 26.

Heath dept. has more H1N1 vaccines than they'll ever need

Posted: Tuesday, January 26, 2010 6:45 PM EST

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A few months ago, when fears about the H1N1 virus were at their worst, people waited in line for hours to get the vaccine.

Now, the vaccine is beginning to pile up on the shelves at the Metro Public Health Department's H1N1 clinic.

One day in October, health officials said they vaccinated 1,800 people at the clinic.  Now, they average around 50 people a day.

"As we have gone farther into the season, the demand has decreased I think because the disease has decreased," Becky Green with the Metro Public Health Department explained.

In Nashville, she said the health department has vaccinated over 62,000 people, which is a better turn out than expected.

Green, however, says don't be fooled by the numbers.

She said even though the number of flu cases has dropped significantly over the past few weeks, there still remains a chance you may get the flu if you have not been vaccinated.

Green said there is a shelf life for the H1N1 vaccine and its monitored daily.  She said when the vaccine expires, it is done away with.

According to the state department of health, there have been 55 lab confirmed H1N1 deaths in Tennessee, 43 adults and 12 children.

Although I think it's higher than 55, at least we got some info, some is better than none, I guess.

Only 16 deaths last week. Looks like the expected third wave in the normal flu season didn't materialize. While there are some states not reporting, I think evidence is strong to support that there is no third wave for now.

I agree with you YMCA.  Can't put my finger on why exactly--but it seems bizarre to me.
