We have been prepping for a few years, so I feel we are in pretty good shape.  However, out of curiosity, I went to the site yesterday where we get our dehydrated and freeze dried foods.  They are out of a lot of the basics.   Another site said they have huge volumes of orders right now and their "food supplies are getting tight." Has anyone noticed shelves in their food stores in lower supply?

Food at Sam's is stocked to the top.  No shortages.  I have an order in to one of the sites that sells dried food.  I tried to call them this afternoon but no answer...hope they are sending my food out!!   I will try tomorrow morning.

No one at Sam's on Saturday or today Tuesday had their carts full of the stuff I had. So people are not prepping in the Denver area as far as I can see.

I do know that masks are flying off the shelves, one of my friends at work said there are none at the Drug Stores or Grocery stores.  She was going to try Home Depot/Lowes.  I told her to get N95 masks, and had to explain to her what and why.  If this Swine Flu goes bad it will be a real problem...people have no preps or knowledge.

Got hold of my food people who sell the dry food.  They are not, repeat not getting more business currently.  He said they have been slow for a year now and it has not changed.

Go figure?

Well, someone is in Colorado prepping...Sam's club when the checker saw my 40 lbs of pinto beans she said to the helper, "Some woman came in and purchased 20 bags of those beans today.  Boy is her house going to smell bad after she cooks all of those beans."

That woman purchased 200 lbs. of beans and I would bet she is prepping.

Still no people out there prepping as I shopped at Sam's and Walmart.

Put in an order to my dry food people today for buckets and the lady said she was surprised that they were not busy.  I think that the preppers are solid on their food because last year it was taking 8 weeks to get food from this food company, now only 2 weeks.

Let's hope we never have to use our preps!

my "prepping" focus has now shifted from food and supplies, to surviving "if" we do in fact get the flu.

I'm reading as much as I can, have ordered a couple books off amazon, have a stockpile of all sorts of herbal medications and vitamins... learning the proper "nursing" care for someone who has influenza, etc.

We're prepped with food survival.
now I want to be prepped for FLU SURVIVAL.

waltonfeed.com has not seen an increase in their orders...so no panic at this time.

Kswanson09, do not worry I just nursed my dying husband through cancer.  He passed away two months ago.  I just did what came naturally.  Very ill people just need fluids, someone to keep a clean "bucket" in front of them after they throw up, someone to help them to the bathroom, to help clean them up if they can't do it, give them a "bath" when they can't take one (just wipe down with warm water and clean the main spots with soap and water), and someone to give medications.

It is not hard and is a privilege to do so.   Any questions just ask.

I'm so sorry about your loss :(
No doubt he was a lucky man to have you by his side caring for him through that. You're a strong lady, and indeed we're lucky to have you around here!

I had friends to support me and that meant alot to me.  I could do anything when I knew friends were really standing ready to help.  Gave me the strength to do it myself.

That is why I stand ready to help others...together we will make it through anything.  Thank you for your kind words kswanson09 and doomsmom.

Started dehydrating today.  Carrots were on sale really cheap, so time to fire up the solar dehydrator.  I love it.  Free sun and cheap carrots.
