Avian Flu Talk
Welcome to SwineFlu.org
Alert: On March 31, China reported its first two human cases of a novel bird flu virus known as H7N9, which was the first time this bird flu virus had ever been seen in humans. The new H7N9 bird flu to date, April 6, 2013, has infected 18 people, resulting in 6 deaths. The fatality rate will most likely significantly increase as the majority of the current survivors are still hosptilized in critical condition, other than two. This new bird flu virus has fully adapted to mammals and has the ability to infect humans, but it's still unclear if the new virus can be effiently transmitted among humans causing the next pandemic, or if it will soon acquire the ability of effient human-to-human transmission. Limited human-to-human transmission has possibly occured. This new bird flu virus is considered extermely virulent.
